# Website, Ocho

## Answer

The website is one paste box and one promise, a short scroll that shows a read, the picks, Make it and the hand off, and ends on the capped read; in this version Ocho, the octopus, sits small in the corner and never on a button.

## Today

| Fact | Source |
|---|---|
| The live landing says Design partner preview, then Your store's marketing team, in one feed | [src: brew/public/app.js:405-406] |
| Its lede: add your website; it reads your store, reviews, rivals and AI answers, then agents bring you ideas you shape together and hand over as one brief | [src: brew/public/app.js:407] |
| One box with yourbrand.com as the hint, and one button, Build my feed | [src: brew/public/app.js:408] |
| Under the box: run it on your own store, or one you work on; your team claims the workspace, others only see what is public; this line names the product, read from `PRODUCT_NAME` | [src: brew/public/app.js:392] |
| The foot says sign in with Google, email sign in is coming, with Privacy and Terms links | [src: brew/public/app.js:410] |
| Three sample cards with figures sit beside the box, each labelled Sample since 26 Oct | [src: brew/public/app.js:403, 411] [src: brew commit ca2bc7b] |
| The page title is still the product's internal name; since 26 Oct the page says its language and has a description: Your store's marketing team in one feed, plays from your own data, first drafts and one brief to hand over | [src: brew/public/index.html:1] [src: brew/test/product-name.test.js:84] |
| The internal name still shows in a few places, the landing's own store line, the legal pages' title and nav, and every email's sender, all read from one constant so the rename is one line | [src: brew/public/app.js:392] [src: brew/legal-pages.js:9, 17] [src: brew/auth.js:177] [src: brew/product-name.js:1-6] |
| A visitor on a free mailbox meets a wall that points to the demo stores | [src: brew/public/app.js:276-290] |
| The demo picker says know what to do next, hand it over in one brief; a read there takes about four minutes; since 26 Oct it says plays and we | [src: brew/public/demo-picker.html:127] [src: brew/public/demo-picker.html:186] |
| There is no ask for a read page; asks arrive by DM and email | [src: no source found in memory or brew origin/main] |
| The brief page is a signed read only link with no login, marked noindex | [src: brew/handoff.js:8] [src: brew/handoff.js:136] |
| Each brand's brand book is public as a page and as files, including llms.txt | [src: brew/server.js:938-948] |
| No character appears on any page yet; the direction is not picked | [src: handbook/AGENTS.md] |

## Tomorrow

### The home page, top to bottom, in Ocho's version

| Block | Words | Ocho | Button | Version | Tag |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hero | Your store's marketing team, in one feed. Paste your store link. Get this week's marketing ideas, already drafted | Small in the corner, with the tagline: Eight arms on your marketing. | Build my feed | v1 | Changes |
| Watch it read | The read steps tick by. About 3 to 4 minutes | Eight arms reading your store. About 3 to 4 minutes. | None | v1 | Changes |
| One finding | A Sample finding with its source | All eight arms done. Look at this first: 41 reviews mention the smell of rain, your ads never do. Sample | Share this finding | v1 | New |
| This week's picks | Pick the good ones. Heart it and more like it appear. Character word: Arms full | Monday. Arms full. Five picks for your store, drafted. | None | v1 | New |
| Make it | Every version kept. Character word: Ink it | None | None | v1 | Changes |
| Hand it off | Your team, your agency or ours. Nothing posts from the product. Character word: Free an arm | Brief copied. Paste it to them. One arm free. | None | v1 | Changes |
| Ask for a read | Design partner reads are capped. Each costs real time and money | Out of arms for now. Reads are capped while we build v0. Ask us for one. | Ask for a read | v1 | New |
| Footer | Read only, privacy link, the small mark | Drafted by Ocho. Over to you. | None | v1 | Changes |

Ocho's own line for the page: One box. Paste. I will take it from there with all eight.

### The ask for a read page

| State | Words | Ocho | Version | Tag |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open | Paste your store link. Ask for a read | Holding up the link, no timer | v1 | New |
| Sent | Got it. A person replies today | None | v1 | New |
| Full | Reads are full this month. Leave your link and we will write when one opens | Even I run out of arms. That is the cap. | v1 | New |
| Not a fit yet | A person replies honestly if a read will not help yet | None | v1 | New |

Questions the page answers, in plain words with no character:

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What does it cost? | Ask us. We talk about cost with each design partner before anything changes for them |
| Do I need to sign up? | You paste your store link and sign in with Google, using an email at your store's own domain |
| Will it post anything for me? | No. It drafts and prepares. You decide what ships and who ships it |
| Do I have to connect my accounts? | No. The read uses public pages. If you connect one later, the connection is read only |
| Why is it capped? | Each read costs real time and money. We would rather do fewer, properly |

### Pages anyone can open

| Page | Ocho | Version | Tag |
|---|---|---|---|
| The brief page | A 32 px sign off at the bottom only: Drafted by Ocho. Over to you. No sales line, ever | v1 | Changes |
| The brand book | A small sign off; the book is the brand's, never an ad for us | v1 | Changes |
| The shared finding card | A small sign off beside the source | v1 | New |

Ocho's line about these pages: One small arm waves at the bottom. That is it.

### Look

| Item | Ocho | Version | Tag |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display type | DynaPuff | v1 | New |
| Body type | Archivo | v1 | New |
| Owned colour | hot pink #ff4fa3 | v1 | New |
| Name | A wordmark slot until the name is picked; the internal name goes from every page | v1 | Changes |
| Landing sample cards | Labelled Sample, done on origin/main; replaced by a real partner finding with permission later | v1 | Stays |
| Hero adds: posts with your OK | Only once posting ships | v2 | New |
| Hero adds: see what worked | Only once results ship | v3 | New |
| Hero adds: ads inside your rules | Only once it ships | v4 | New |

## How we do it

1. The hero button is always the plain word, Build my feed. Ocho never sits on a button, a card or a product photo.
2. No partner logos, customer counts or testimonials until we have them in writing.
3. Every figure comes from the allowed list in brand-directions/BRIEF.md lines 92 to 97, in its exact words.
4. Today the paste leads to sign in. The page must never say no sign in is needed.
5. Build on staging first, check every block at phone width, then promote.
6. Run the writing checker on every line before it ships.

## Numbers

| Metric | Definition | Where measured | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visits | People who open the landing, per week | Analytics on the landing, once installed | Proposed |
| Paste rate | Share of visits that tap Build my feed with a valid address | Analytics and build requests | Proposed |
| Ask rate | Share of visits that send a store link on the ask page | The ask page | Proposed |
| Wall rate | Share of pastes refused for a free mailbox | Visitors log | Proposed |

## Open

1. **Which domain does the site live on?** Proposal: pick it with the name; until then keep feed.joinsquareup.com.
2. **Are the home page and the ask page one page?** Proposal: one page; the ask is the last block, and a full cap swaps the box for Leave your link.
3. **Do the landing's Sample cards stay, now that they are labelled?** Proposal: keep them until a partner lets us show a real finding.
4. **When does the internal name leave the landing and the emails?** Proposal: the day the name is picked, in one change.
5. **Do we show one finding before sign in?** Proposal: yes, as the reveal in v1, so a visitor sees value before giving an email.
