# Taxes

## Answer

The taxes Brew owes and the invoices that comply, in India and any market we sell to; no source records a GST registration, a tax rate we apply or any filing, so this page lists what is known and the questions the CA must answer before the first invoice.

## Today

| Fact | Source |
|---|---|
| The entity is Yellow Monk Technologies LLP, LLPIN AAY-1244 | [src: brew/docs/connectors-approvals.md:26] [src: memory brew-real-connectors] |
| No GSTIN, tax rate or filing is recorded in any source | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:13] |
| The pricing proposal says the CA must confirm GST on wallet top ups | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:13] |
| Prices: USD list, ₹ India regional, set for the market | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:15] |
| Brew is free during the preview, so nothing is invoiced yet | [src: brew/legal-pages.js:40] |
| Every partner today is Indian | [src: memory brew-live-stores] |
| The product never handles tax or GSTIN for the brand's own store | [src: memory brew-name-and-scope] |

## Tomorrow

| Item | Version | Tag |
|---|---|---|
| GST on every Indian invoice | v1, after pricing | New |
| Tax treatment for brands outside India | v1, after the second market | New |
| Whether ₹ prices include or add GST | v1, after pricing | New |

## How we do it

The questions for the CA, to settle before the first invoice:

1. Is the LLP registered for GST, and from which state.
2. The rate and service code for a software subscription sold to Indian businesses.
3. Whether wallet top ups are taxed when loaded or when spent.
4. Whether sales to brands outside India can go out without GST under a letter of undertaking, and what proof is kept.
5. Whether ₹ list prices should be shown with GST added at checkout.
6. Filing calendar: GST returns, income tax and LLP annual filings, with who files each.

Record each answer here with the date and the CA's name.

## Numbers

| Metric | Definition | Where measured | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| GST collected a month | Tax on invoices issued | Provider and accounts | Proposed |
| Filings on time | Filings made by their due date over all due | CA's calendar | Proposed |

## Open

1. **Book the CA conversation.** Proposal: Param books it this month with the six questions above and the pricing proposal attached.
2. **Show ₹ prices with or without GST?** Proposal: show ₹4,999 plus GST to businesses, and say so on the plan sheet, once the CA confirms the rate.
3. **Dollar sales from India.** Proposal: invoice in USD from the LLP under a letter of undertaking, if the CA confirms it applies.
