# Billing and invoicing

## Answer

How a brand will pay Brew: provider, invoices, plans in the product and failed payments; nothing is built and no provider is chosen, so this page records the rules the pricing proposal already sets and proposes the rest for Param.

## Today

| Fact | Source |
|---|---|
| No billing code; the plan sheet is a Dummy that switches Pro on in the browser | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:3] [src: brew/DUMMY.md:17] |
| Brew is free during the preview | [src: brew/legal-pages.js:40] |
| Do not build billing until Param says go | [src: memory brew-pricing-parked] |
| USD is the list price; ₹ is the India regional price | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:15] |
| A charge happens only when the brand keeps a piece; the wallet is closed and not refundable | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:9-12] |
| After the trial the brand is read only and nothing is deleted | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:38] |
| Annual billing gets 2 months free | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:39] |
| GST on top ups needs the CA's confirmation | [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:13] |
| The entity is Yellow Monk Technologies LLP, LLPIN AAY-1244 | [src: brew/docs/connectors-approvals.md:26] [src: memory brew-real-connectors] |
| The product itself never handles the brand's own payments | [src: memory brew-name-and-scope] |

## Tomorrow

| Item | Version | Tag |
|---|---|---|
| A payment provider for plans and wallet top ups | v1, after pricing | New |
| The Dummy plan sheet | v1 | Goes |
| A real plan sheet with the wallet balance and a daily spent and left line | v1, after pricing | New [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:11] |
| Invoices with GST from the LLP | v1, after pricing | New |
| Autopilot share taken from the wallet | v4 | New [src: brew working tree docs/pricing.md:14] |

## How we do it

The proposal, step by step:

1. One provider to start: Razorpay, since every partner today pays in rupees; add Stripe for dollar plans when the first brand outside India signs.
2. Plans are subscriptions per brand, monthly or annual; the wallet is a top up that the provider charges once.
3. Every charge raises an invoice from Yellow Monk Technologies LLP with its GSTIN, the brand's legal name and its GSTIN if it has one.
4. Invoices are emailed to the brand's owners and kept in the product under Settings.
5. A failed charge follows [refunds and collections](/finance/refunds-and-collections).
6. Staff can grant a free plan for partners; every grant is logged with who and why.

## Numbers

| Metric | Definition | Where measured | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charges that succeed first time | Successful first attempts over all charges | Provider dashboard | Proposed |
| Invoices issued | Count a month | Provider | Proposed |
| Days to pay | Days from invoice to payment | Provider | Proposed |

## Open

1. **Which provider?** Proposal: Razorpay first, Stripe later, as above; the CA checks both for invoices that comply.
2. **Is the LLP registered for GST, and what is its GSTIN?** No source records it. Proposal: Param confirms with the CA before the first invoice.
3. **Is wallet money billed with GST at top up or at use?** Proposal: ask the CA; build whichever the CA confirms.
4. **Who can change a brand's plan?** Proposal: the brand's owners and admins, and staff for partners.
